Frequently Asked Questions
How do I melt my free 100gram Sample?
This is the exact Chocolate we use in our fountains it is approx 37% Cocoa solids and is amazing Belgian Milk Chocolate. Pour the sample into a Microwave cup or bowl, all microwaves are different and burnt chocolate doesnt taste too good! so start with just 30 seconds in the microwave and continue a few seconds at a time until all the Chocolate pellets are melted. Now just add strawberries or marshmallows etc put your feet up and enjoy.

What is a chocolate fountain?
A chocolate fountain is a fountain specifically designed for 'couverture' chocolate to allow it to continuously flow in a liquid form. The fountain itself pulls the liquid up through the middle using an auger (corkscrew) allowing the chocolate to flow over a series of plates that create a fountain effect. The fountain also contains a heater to maintain the chocolate in a liquid form at a pleasant temperature.
What areas do you cover?
Chocolate Fountains of Devon covers most of South West England as long as the traveling time is not excessive. Delivery is free in Cornwall (We are now based in Cornwall) and we aim to charge only a minimal supplement for areas outside of Cornwall . Please contact us if you require a quote as we are sure that you will find us very competitive!
Is there anything that I need to supply?
All that we require to operate is a standard 13 Amp power supply and a table that is at least 4 foot in diameter. Virtually all venues are willing to provide a table and electricity supply free of charge but they must be informed of this prior to the event.
Is an operator essential?
We believe that it is imperative that a trained operator is present. This is simply to ensure that food hygiene is maintained and that your guests enjoy the chocolate fountain to its greatest potential. This would also allow you to enjoy your event without having any concerns about the chocolate fountain.
Where can we have our chocolate fountain?
Chocolate fountains tend to work best indoors but they can be used quite easily in marqees as long as the flooring is stable and flat. Warm, delicious flowing chocolate is as tempting to insects as it is to us so we would not operate directly outdoors.
How and when should we book?
Chocolate fountains are becoming increasingly popular at many events and demand is always high so we would recommend that you book as soon as possible. You can book online via email but we always prefer to talk to our clients, to answer any specific questions and to discuss any extra requirements that you may have. A deposit is required to ensure that the fountain is available for your event with the balance payable at least 14 days prior to the event.
